Still Photography

The Bachelor of Arts in Still Photography is granted through the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences in conjunction with the School of Cinema-Television. The curriculum combines course work in the arts and humanities with state-of-the-art photographic training, integrating the technical and aesthetic with a broad general university education. With this diverse background, students are able to compete for positions in commercial photography, advertising, art direction, journalism and other media fields.

Bachelor of Arts students enroll in the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, where they take their pre-professional courses, including general education requirements. Major courses are selected from the curriculum of the School of Cinema-Television, the School of Fine Arts and the departments of Physics and Chemistry. The degree requires 128 units including 19 lower division units and 42 upper division units.

Admission to the Still Photography Program is for the fall semester only. There is no spring admission.

Applicants must submit supplemental application materials to the Still Photography Program. For specific instructions, contact the Cinema-Television Office of Student Affairs, University Park, Los Angeles, CA 90089-2211, or telephone (213) 740-2911.
