Credential requirements may change due to state law. Students are advised to consult periodically with the Office of Student Services for current credential requirements. The following requirements are common to all specialist and service credentials:
(1) Holding a valid basic teaching credential or concurrently completing a basic teaching credential program.
(2) Admission to the School of Education's master's or doctoral program.
(3) A program of studies approved by an appropriate faculty advisor in the School of Education.
(4) Achievement of an overall "pass" on the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST). This is a requirement for all service credential programs and may pertain to some of the specialist programs. Contact the Office of Student Services, Waite Phillips Hall 803, for additional information.

(6) Completion of a final interview and an exit evaluation of program performance.
Under special circumstances students may be admitted to a master's degree program in educational administration with additional courses taken to fulfill the Preliminary Administrative Services Credential.
The above listed courses do not represent the total course requirements for the Ed.D. degree; they represent the minimum configuration of courses necessary to meet all credential competences.
Students interested in the Preliminary or Professional Administrative Services Credential should contact the School of Education Office of Student Services prior to enrolling in any course.
